清朝度支部天津造币总厂于宣统三年(1911年)铸造。宣统二年（1910）四月清颁布《币制则例》，将铸币权明确统一收归中央，并详细制定了标准银币的样式、单位、分量和成色。次年，天津造币总厂根据《币制则例》的规定，聘请经验丰富的外国雕版师精心设计铸造了拟定为国币的宣统三年大清银币，有短须龙、长须龙、反龙、曲须龙等数种版式。而曲须龙版终被选为正式铸行的标准国币。此币正面中央珠圈内镌汉字“大清银币”，珠圈外上端镌*“大清银币”，下端镌汉字“宣统三年”，左右两侧各镌一个对称的花饰。背面镌一个环状盘旋由左向右的曲须龙，其下端镌币值壹圆英文“ONE DOLLAR”。该银币铸造精美细致，又是清代后一枚正式大量铸造发行的银元，也是大清龙洋中的。
本币由于1911年辛亥革命的胜利推翻了满清而停铸，发行数量较少，虽然没有短须龙、长须龙、反龙等样币更为，但作为晚清实际发行的后一枚机制币，具有无如伦比的历史纪念意义，它的停铸也是大清王朝和二千多年的封建帝制在中国终结的历史象征。目前在国际上所有的大清银币的拍卖价都超过一百万了。本币品相保存完好，具有较高的收藏价值。

The front of the coin is marked with the Chinese character "Daqing Silver coin" in the central bead circle, the upper end of the bead circle with the Chinese character "Daqing Silver coin" in the lower end with the Chinese character "Xuantong three years", and a symmetrical decoration on the left and right sides. On the back is a circular Quxulong circling from left to right, with the lower end of the coin worth a circle in English "ONE DOLLAR". The silver coin was exquisitely minted, the last silver coin officially issued in large quantities in the Qing Dynasty, and a model in Longyang of the Qing Dynasty.
