方孔钱是我国古代钱币中常见的一种，是指中间有方孔的圆形钱币，由环形钱演变而来，成为我国古代铜钱的固定形式。圆形方孔钱在形制上完全符合“天圆地方”传统哲学观念，所以在中国通行了两千多年，无论是秦统一中国后颁行的半两钱、汉代通行的五铢钱，还是唐代以后通行的各种“通宝”、“元宝”，在形制上都完全一样。由于历代帝王将相和文人艺术家的参与，使小小的钱币成为文化艺术的载体和结晶，拥有一段悠久而丰富的历史。
Fangkong coin is one of the most common coins in ancient China. It refers to circular coins with square holes in the middle. It evolved from circular coins and became the fixed form of copper coins in ancient China. The circular square Kong Qian fully conforms to the traditional philosophical concept of "Tianyuan Place" in shape, so it has been used in China for more than two thousand years. Whether it is half-two Qian issued after the unification of Qin Dynasty, five baht money in Han Dynasty, or all kinds of "Tongbao" and "Yuanbao" in shape after the Tang Dynasty, it is exactly the same. Because of the participation of emperors and literati and artists in past dynasties, small coins have become the carrier and crystallization of culture and art, and have a long and rich history.
乾隆通宝，是清高宗乾隆时期(1736-1795年)的流通货币。乾隆皇帝在位的60年里施展其“文治武功”的治国策略，创造了封建社会里后一个辉煌盛世，之后民间便盛传佩带“乾隆通宝”铜钱可驱灾，又因乾隆二字谐音“钱隆”而备受后世藏家所喜爱。乾隆通宝的铸造工艺了得，奠基了该古钱币在将来钱币珍藏界中的重要位置，这不只反映了该时代的经济开展程度，还表现了该历史时期极为的铸币工艺，有着极为深厚的历史研究意义。
Qianlong Tong Bao was the circulation currency of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing Dynasty (1736-1795 years). During the 60 years of Emperor Qianlong's reign, he carried out his strategy of governing the country with "literary and martial arts" and created the last glorious prosperity in feudal society. After that, it was widely spread among the people that wearing "Qianlong Tongbao" copper coin could drive away evil spirits and was loved by Tibetans of later generations because of the two-character homonym "Qianlong". The foundry technology of Qianlong Tongbao laid a foundation for the important position of this ancient coin in the future coin collection circle. This not only reflects the economic development of this era, but also reflects the exquisite coining technology of this historical period, which has a profound historical significance.
