粉彩又叫软彩，与硬彩相对，而硬彩又叫古彩、五彩。粉彩是在康熙五彩的基础上受珐琅彩的影响而产生的新品种，那么两者之间有什么区别呢？粉彩与硬彩的区别如下：

硬彩又名五彩一般指明代五彩和清代康熙五彩，它通过将不同颜色带玻璃质的彩料，在瓷器釉面上进行作画，二次进窑烧造完成。古彩瓷拥有色彩分明、晶莹剔透、色彩形成强烈对比，图案纹饰表现夸张，线条刚劲有力，充满民族艺术特色。

粉彩是在烧造完成的白瓷胎上，用笔勾勒出图案纹饰的轮廓，然后使用含有砷的玻璃白进行打底，然后再给图案轮廓上色，用干净的笔将颜色洗开，后进窑烧造完成的瓷器。
